New factory ticks the right boxes

A SUPPLIER of fresh Scottish seafood and game is continuing its expansion strategy with the purchase of a new factory on the outskirts of Inverness.

Coast and Glen will add to its existing industrial premises in Walker Road in Inverness, with the new fish and game processing factory, which spans 2,631 sq ft within a 0.26 acre site.

The new facility, at Wyndhill Industrial Estate in Muir of Ord, is expected to lead to a number of new jobs. It was purchased with assistance from HSBC.

Coast and Glen supplies to food service customers throughout the Highlands and islands as well as to Michelin star restaurants across the UK.

It also operates a sister company, Fishbox, which enables customers to have a regular box of mixed fresh fish delivered next day UK wide.

Founding managing director Magnus Houston, who was recently named Scotland’s Institute of Directors Emerging Director of the Year and Scotland’s Rising Star in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, has ambitions to grow the business and is actively expanding its customer base within the retail sector.

‘The new factory and office will not only allow Fishbox to expand its customer acquisition, but will free up space to let Coast and Glen continue its organic growth.’
