Add your voice to women’s survey

THE recruitment and progression of women in the aquaculture industry has been the focus of much discussion lately, most recently during a packed breakfast meeting at Aquaculture UK in Aviemore last week.
To better gauge what forms of support might be of value to promote diversity within the sector, the Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) has been running a short survey.
More than 100 people (men and women) have responded so far and SAIC will convene a volunteer group to review the results.
The feedback will be used make recommendations for actions that could be implemented – including establishing a women’s network if there is enough interest in the sector.
The survey closes this week – on June 1 – and can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/WomeninUKAquaculture.
It takes on average four minutes, said SAIC, and there is scope to add comments. All responses will be held in confidence, although anyone who offers to help – by becoming a mentor, for example -will be asked for further information.
