DOVER Coastguard was called in to assist with the rescue of two dolphins which had become entangled in nets off Folkestone at the weekend.
Folkestone Coastguard Rescue Team was sent to investigate and found the two dolphins snagged in a net. Dover Coastguard then requested the Littlestone Inshore RNLI lifeboat to launch and the British Marine Divers Mammal Unit were also informed.
Peter Legg, Dover Coastguard Senior Watch Manager said the dolphins had been stuck in the nets for at least two hours. He was hopeful that with all the expertise on scene they would be able to release them back out to sea.
