NOEL Dempsey, the Irish Minister for Communications, Marine & Natural Resources together with his colleague, Marine Minister John Browne, today appointed prominent Cork businesswoman Ms. Rose McHugh to the position of chair of Bord Iascaigh Mara (BIM), the Irish Sea Fisheries Board.
"Since her original appointment to the board of BIM in October 2004 Rose has been outstanding in her drive and commitment to BIM. She has clearly demonstrated her abilities over this time and I am sure that she will continue to do a fantastic job in her new role as chair of BIM," said Minister Dempsey.
Minister Browne reinforced this, commenting that: "Rose is a strong leader with an extremely distinguished track record in business and I have no doubt that she will be able to bring her unique experiences and expertise to what is a challenging and demanding role."
