THE Spanish government has offered Mozambique increased cooperation in the diverse spheres of fishing activities. The Spanish Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Nutrition, Elena Espinosa, who last week met with her colleague from Mozambique, Cadmiel Feliane, proposed an agreement of cooperation to the country’s authorities which would include the training of fishing vessel crew members about the fishing industry and in fish farming sites and the marketing of seafood.
The Spanish minister also expressed her desire to cooperate with Mozambique in order for them to be able to introduce traceability rules valid on the European market and which constitute a nutritional security reference for the whole world. In addition, she offered the Mozambique minister the possibility that the Spanish oceanography vessel ‘Vizconde de Eza’ could undertake an evaluation of the marine resources of the country.
