'Enjoy the Taste of Scotland' event to be held in Edinburgh
Published:  17 March, 2006

FOR the first time ever, Tesco will be hosting an 'Enjoy the Taste of Scotland' media and consumer event in the prestigious surroundings of The Hub, Edinburgh from April 21-23.

The event will be opened by Tesco Chairman David Reid and will feature over 60 Scottish food and drink producers exhibiting the 'best' from Scotland’s larder in one place.

Throughout the three-day event, visitors will be able to discover, taste and buy a mouth-watering array of foods ranging from delicatessen meats, creamy cheeses, delicious delicacies, sumptuous pâtés, exotic ice-creams, premier beers, heart-warming whiskies and liqueurs that promise to tantalise the tastebuds.

The exhibitor list reads like a culinary grand tour of Scotland with household names such Baxters, Tunnock’s and Mackie’s and small speciality producers such as Rannoch Smokery, Tilly Confectionery and Castle MacLellan all exhibiting under one roof for the first time. Within the spectacular surroundings of The Hub, 10 themed areas including dairy, healthy eating, meat, seafish, fresh produce, confectionery, ice creams, delicatessen, grocery, and frozen will be encapsulated in a stunning design that reflects the high standards of producers who will come together to make the visit a unique and enjoyable experience.

Visitors looking for inspirational culinary creations can whet their appetite with a visit to the Tesco Celebrity Kitchen. Celebrity chefs will impart their words of wisdom along with practical tips and techniques on creating the perfect dish. Tickets for the celebrity kitchen are FREE and can be collected on a first come, first served basis from the event registration desk.

The event is open to the public on Saturday 22 April (10am-6pm) and Sunday 23 April (10am–4pm).
