THE Leader of the SNP Mr Alex Salmond today responded to the long-standing Conservative claims that they will pull out of the Common Fisheries Policy if elected.
Alex Salmond said:
“Scottish fishing communities are well aware of the devastating impact of Tory policies on their communities. It was a Conservative government who handed over control of our fishing industry describing it as being 'expendable'. It was also a Conservative government who signed up to the disastrous Common Fisheries Policy."
The SNP favours returning control of fisheries to an independent Scotland.
