ALERTS have been raised on seafood by EU food monitoring authorities. Alert notifications were given by Italy on too high content of sulphites in precooked prawns from France and Malachite green was found in rainbow trout from Denmark, Germany notified.
For week 15 information notifications concerning seafood included: too high content of sulphites in precooked shrimps from France and Brazil, cadmium in mineral premixture for fish, from Norway, and histamine was found in sardines in oil from Turkey.
Also, notifications were raised for carbon monoxide treatment of tuna loins from Oman and too high count of Escherichia coli in mussels from Spain.
