The WOC Arctic Business Leadership Council meeting marks the start of an ongoing forum for multi-sectoral collaboration among responsible companies on the future of the Arctic. The gathering will bring together representatives of shipping, oil and gas, fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, marine science/technology and other industries with interests in the Arctic.

The WOC meeting and the following Informal Business Dialogue session present an opportunity for the private sector to help shape the structure and process of Arctic business interaction both among the industry sectors operating in the region as well as in dialogue with representatives for the Sustainable Development Working Group.

The WOC is the only international, cross-sectoral alliance for private sector leadership and collaboration in “Corporate Ocean Responsibility”. Companies and associations worldwide are distinguishing themselves as leaders in ocean sustainability and stewardship by joining the WOC. Members include over 50 leadership organizations from a wide range of industries: shipping, oil and gas, renewable energy, seafood/fisheries, marine science and technology, mining, maritime law, marine environmental services and other areas.
