The Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC) has changed its name with immediate effect (from 1st January 2012) to Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).
The name change has been brought about by a need to reflect the organisation’s role as a generic marketer for the whole Norwegian seafood industry. This not only reflects the work of the organisation within Norway’s seafood industry, but also its work in the international domestic market.
Terje E Martinussen, CEO of Norwegian Seafood Council, said: “This gives us a more generic Norwegian name which also reflects an increased focus on the domestic market. Our main activities continue as generic marketing, market information, market access, communication and issues management. The name is new, but the activities, the people and the engagement for seafood from Norway is kept at the same high level.”
Should people be 'stimulated' to eat white fish alternatives to cod?
