The Company
The Scottish Salmon Company is the leading independent producer of superior Scottish salmon.

Our current production exceeds 20,000 tonnes and represents 20 per cent of all Scottish salmon production.  We supply fresh Scottish salmon of the highest quality worldwide and we are dedicated to achieving the best customer service.
We are driven by our core values: Pride in our Company, Passion for our Salmon and the Provenance of our Scottish heritage.
Stringent biological control and bio-security is extremely important to us and we use careful fallowing regimes, in-house production of high quality smolt with a clear focus on bio-security to maintain this position. The success of such measures were recognised by the Crown Estate  with the Award for Best Marine Aquaculture Company 2011 in terms of sustainable practise, business performance, investment, staff management practises and local community involvement.

The Role
This role focuses on a preventative and strategic approach to fish health, monitoring the health status of all stocks and ensuring effective measures are in place to protect the fish population from disease.   Biosecurity and an ability to manage and produce quality risk assessments are pivotal and you will also be able to provide staff training in fish husbandry and able to liaise with external authorities.

We can be flexible on location in Scotland but the successful candidate must be able to drive and be willing to travel regularly between all our sites.

Your Background
A Biology degree or Veterinary Medicine Degree, together with an analytical approach and an understanding of the environmental impact of fish farming is essential.  Experience of working as a specialist central resource in Biosecurity or fish health would be an advantage.
