ATLANTIC SEAFOOD LAUNCHES NEW MANUFACTURING SITE IN LIGNOL
Published:  01 December, 2011

Atlantic Seafood has been a seafood producer since 1997 and has developed and created two ranges of products: tuna in Ecuador, and cod in Spain.

But now  Atlantic Seafood has relocated production of tuna-based products to the industrial site of Euralis, based in Lignol, in Brittany (West of France) by way of Atlantic Gourmet, a newly created subsidiary.

Building work for the new 2500 m² site began in November 2011 and full production will start in April 2012.

The company focuses on two main product areas:

· Tuna in sterilised, flexible pouches.

· Frozen tuna, cod, salmon, organic prawns and squid.

It produces 4,000 tons of canned and frozen tuna each year and 2,000 tons of cod-based products.

Tuna and cod represent approximately 80% of our total turnover.

The market breakdown is split as follows:

· 60% sold to the food and ready meal industry

· 40% sold to catering companies

Its global turnover is as follows:

· 60% sales in France

· 40%  international sales

Turnover has increased by 30% this year. For the 2011 tax year, Atlantic Seafood foresees a turnover of 14M€.

Due to the following reasons:

- Diversification of  resources,

- Development of new products,

- Introduction of new processing technology,

- Improved logistics; with the relocation of the production of tuna-based products to the industrial site of Euralis, based in Lignol, in Brittany.

Atlantic Gourmet will offer a wider range of products and will produce 4,000 tons of products every year with 30 employees by 2013. The raw material will be imported from the joint-venture sites, Ecuador and Spain, and will use an entirely automated production. Our turnover is planned to increase from 15 to 20M€ by 2015.
