Grimsby man appointed to promote North Atlantic Seafood Forum
Published:  01 December, 2011

The North Atlantic Seafood Forum AS has appointed Simon Dwyer of Seafox Management Consultants Ltd as their UK & Ireland Representative to promote the North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) which takes place in Oslo next March.

Simon Dwyer is based in Grimsby and has worked closely with the Seafood sector in the UK, Ireland and abroad for many years. The role will be to represent the interest of the highly successful Forum that has become the largest seafood business conference in the world.

The event in 2012 will be even more popular with the recent announcement that NASF has entered into a seminar partnership with FAO Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy and Economics Division.

The FAO -NASF seminar 2012 will have a number of special themes and developments that will broaden the scope of existing NASF events. This includes FAO Code of conduct for Responsible Fisheries, IUU fisheries, certification and sustainability. The FAO will also focus their attentions of the African seafood sector with top policy makers and industry figures joining the event next March.

Jorgen Lund, Managing Director of NASF AS, said: "The UK and Ireland seafood businesses and organisations have been great supporters of the NASF and we’re pleased that Simon has joined the international team that promotes the Forum. The NASF has an international team of Representatives that are highly skilled consultants with a track record in the international seafood industry.

Jorgen Lund went on to say:"NASF is the premier meeting place and business arena for the seafood industry top executives. For 2012 we expect 30 countries to be represented with more than 500 senior industry delegates in attendance."

Simon said: "It’s a milestone for me and our business that we have been recognised by NASF and their MD, Jorgen Lund, to represent and support next year’s event and hopefully other events, in years to come. The NASF has a strong reputation and their credentials have been further enhanced with the recent announcement regarding the FAO."

Simon goes on to say: "This is a major opportunity for Seafood and Aquaculture businesses and other industry representatives in the UK and Ireland to capitalise on an expanding and diverse programme of events that now embraces countries from Africa."

The forum will be held in Oslo, from March 6th-8th  2012.
