Fishworks serve up a tasty dish for the Mission
Published:  22 November, 2011

Award winning restaurant group Fishworks have been proud supporters of the Fishermen’s Mission since 2007.

So far they have raised £8,272 for the fishermen’s charity by donating £1.00 every time they serve their delicious Zuppa Del Pescatore, a fish stew with thyme, saffron & garlic served in the cooking pan.

Said Elaine Campbell, Director of Fundraising at the Mission, “We are extremely grateful to Fishworks for their wonderful support over the past four years. Not only have they raised an amazing amount of money to help us provide emergency and welfare support for our fishermen and their families but they have also raised awareness of our work by including our name on their menus and website. This is publicity that with our limited resources we simply can’t buy”.

Fishworks believe that raising awareness is vital for such a great cause. We take great pride in supporting the welfare of the UK’s deep sea fisherman. Fresh British seafood is at the heart of everything we do and we will continue support the Fishermans Mission.’’ Joe Teixeira CEO of Fishworks 2 LTD

Fishworks was one of the first fish restaurant’s together with Mission Vice-Patron Rick Stein’s St Petroc’s Bistro to sign up to the Mission’s restaurant initiative. Today restaurants from across the UK including the two-Michelin starred Restaurant Nathan Outlaw and Edinburgh’s famed Ondine raise much needed money for the Mission.

Elaine is keen for more restaurants to get behind the campaign, ‘If you have a favourite fish restaurant that doesn’t support the Mission, please let us know by emailing the details to fundraising@rnmdsf.org.uk. It’s really easy for the restaurant to get involved and believe it or not supporting the Mission does not affect staff tips!”
