Salmon smoker Lossie Seafoods Ltd and langoustine processor Moray Seafoods Ltd have appointed an export director to spearhead sales into new markets around the world.
Associated Seafoods Ltd recently acquired both Buckie companies and the appointment of experienced export sales director Henry Angus will provide the platform to develop new business into key markets for premium Scottish smoked salmon, langoustine and crab.
Henry Angus (45) brings considerable experience to Moray and Lossie Seafoods, joining the two companies from Gourmet’s Choice in Portsoy where he was export sales manager. Previously, he was account manager and involved in export sales for Baxter’s Food Group, and before then held similar roles at Strathaird Salmon.
Henry said: “I am delighted to be joining Lossie and Moray Seafoods at this exciting time in their development. Both companies offer high quality products that are in strong demand around the world. I have been particularly impressed by the dedication and motivation of the staff in both companies.”
Victor West, the managing director of Moray and Lossie Seafoods, said: “Henry brings considerable experience of business development into the important export market. Since the acquisition of the two companies by Associated Seafoods, we have been embarking upon a restructuring and development programme, and the appointment of Henry is a key element of ensuring its successful implementation.”
Moray Seafoods was established in 1958 and plays an important role in the economy of Buckie, employing around 50 people. The company specialises in fresh and frozen langoustine, and supplies both the UK and export markets.
Lossie Seafoods also employs around 50 people at its Buckie processing facility and over the years has won several awards for the quality of its premium smoked salmon and its export success.
