IT is called "Fish Dock" and it is a new initiative from the Grimsby-based Saucy Fish Company to help consumers get to know their seafood better.
Launched this week Fish Dock is described as a one-stop-shop for fresh fish dinner inspiration.
The aim is to digitally promote fish without the fuss. The Saucy Fish Company is a relatively new part of the Icelandic Group's UK seafood business which includes Coldwater Seafoods and Seachill, also both based in Grimsby.
The company produces popular fish like salmon, sea bass and smoked haddock accompanied by speciality sauces and vinaigrettes. Simon Smith, head of brand at the company said that since the launch in 2010 the products have gone from strength to strength.
Now it's latest digital offering will include fresh fish recipes for all occasions from quick and easy mid-week meal option, a laid back dinner with friends, or a dinner to impress.
The site includes an array of ways to help you get the most out of your cooking – from fun ‘How-To’s’ to help you prepare and serve fish interesting facts about fish, and even some fishy jokes thrown in for good measure.
All of this is laid out in an easy-to-navigate website http://dock.thesaucyfishco.com/ so people can find at-a-glance, exactly what they are looking for by searching recipes for a particular type of fish, information on which flavours complement different types of fish, or what they can do with ingredients in the cupboard. There will also be regular postings on Facebook and Twitter.
Meanwhile, the company has also just launched a new integrated TV marketing campaign with adverts being aired across most ITV regions.
Should people be 'stimulated' to eat white fish alternatives to cod?
