Seafish kicks off new programme of industry Data Workshops
Published:  06 October, 2011

On September 28th, Seafish held the first of a new series of market data workshops for industry.

Twenty-five representatives attended the half-day session, which this time focused on a presentation of new market data on the Foodservice sector.

Following the positive Supreme Court outcome in June,* Seafish is now in a position to work once again with data providers NPD to source and analyse CREST information on foodservice trends and produce half yearly reports for industry.

The workshop  was held at the Humber Seafood Institute in Grimsby. A full presentation of up to date Foodservice trends was made, as well as a briefing on Seafish’s new ‘Fish is Easy’ consumer campaign and updates on the Industry Project Fund, which has been open for new applications during September.

Julie Snowden of Seafish says: “It’s great that we are now once again in a position to reinstate our data workshop programme. These provide a valuable resource for our seafood industry levy payers to access up to the minute market data on which to base their business decisions - something which many smaller businesses might not otherwise be able to afford.”

Samantha Howard of Young’s Seafood attended the event.  She said: “I thought the information presented at the meeting was extremely interesting and very informative. I’m looking forward to the next event.”
