Larsnes Mek. Verksted AS has announced that it has been contracted by ship owners Kings Bay AS and Eros AS to produce two new pelagic vessels.
The vessels will be the first productions world-wide with Green-Passport / IHM certification provided by Metizoft AS.
With the new IHM (Inventory of Hazardous Materials) made after regulation of the Hong Kong convention it is required to have a registration of all components and materials known to be potentially hazardous utilized in the construction of the ship, its equipment and systems.
This responsibility falls on the successive owner of the ship and also to maintain the accuracy of the Green Passport / IHM and incorporate into it all relevant design and equipment changes, with the final owner delivering the document, with the ship, to the recycling facility.
The boat hulls will be produced in Poland but furnished and equipped by Larsnes Mek. Verksted AS. Metizoft AS will be involved in the whole process with registration of components and materials. They will also have the responsibility for the IHM during the boats lifetime. The vessels will be ready for use by 2012.
