As a continuing sign of its determination to win new business, Styropack UK announces the appointment of Alan Grosvenor as its area sales manager for Grimsby today.
“An important part of Alan’s work will be in Grimsby, as home to the largest fish market in the UK and one of the largest centres for fish processing in Europe, Grimsby is home to many of our most valued customers,” says Mike Pocock, group sales manager.
“We expect Alan to not only provide our existing customers with a top quality service, but also to develop new business and win us new customers. We are committed to serving the fish processing community in Grimsby and Alan’s appointment reflects that.
“Appointing a man with the experience and calibre of Alan Grosvenor as area sales manager will be of great benefit to our customers in Grimsby and the surrounding area. I am sure he will quickly find his feet and start to make a great contribution.”
Alan comes to Styropack with an impeccable background in leading or blue chip companies, “I spent 15 years in Unilever and after that worked at Georgia Pacific, Hutamaki and JJ Poly,” he says.
“I am looking forward to working for an ambitious, slightly smaller organisation where my input will really count,” says Alan. “I like the Styropack approach to account management; it chimes with my view, that a good supplier becomes a valuable partner to their customers and helps to support their business through good and bad times.
“And, it’s fascinating for me to learn all about EPS (expanded polystyrene), it is a familiar material that is constantly being re-engineered for new purposes. Its characteristics of being an excellent insulator and 100% recyclable make it a key player in the packaging industry.
“I am looking forward to getting out and meeting our customers over the next few weeks and to really getting under the skin of this business, added Alan.”
Styropack is the leading manufacturer of protective packaging and foam products in the UK. Four plants are strategically located across the UK in Aberdeen, Blackburn, Ford and Grimsby, with 150 machines of varying sizes and capabilities.
Styropack is part of the international Synbra Holding bv, one of Europe's top suppliers of EPS packaging, insulation and plastics with 29 production locations in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Portugal.
