YVONNE Adam has left her long time post as marketing director for Young's Seafood to take a similar role with Baxters, the iconic Scottish soup maker.
She has been with the Grimsby based seafood company for the past seven year during which time she has promoted a number of innovative new fish products through her marketing initiatives. She joined the company in 2004 and was promoted to marketing director three and a half years later.
Young's parent Findus said it was unlikely that her post would be filled as the company was moving to a simpler marketing structure. The marketing team at Young's will now be led by Natasha Gladman.
Among Yvonne Adam's marketing moves was to persuade football star David Beckham to endorse a new healthy range of Young's fish products ahead of last summer's World Cup.
Earlier, she was instrumental in promoting the UK’s very first breaded scampi to be made with MSC-certified sustainable langoustine. The product was a direct result of MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certification for the Stornoway, Isle of Lewis langoustine fishery.
Meanwhile, Baxters said: "Yvonne brings with her extensive experience of team management, is passionate about the success and personal development of her team, has a very positive and decisive approach and relishes the opportunity for new challenges."
Baxters is famous for its tinned soups. Its main manufacturing base is at Fochabers in Scotland, but it also has production facilities in Colchester (making pickles and sauces) and in Poland and Canada, as well as a marketing office in Australia.
Should people be 'stimulated' to eat white fish alternatives to cod?
