Peter Howgate Award: Second call for applicants

Fishfiles Lite is delighted to announce the second call for applications for this years Peter Howgate Award for the Young Fish Technologist of the Year.

The award will be a Financial grant towards the cost of travel or subsistence outside the country of normal of residence of the applicant, for an amount up to EURO 500.

The award was launched in honour of Peter Howgate who, for 35 years worked at the Torry Research Station, Aberdeen,  a UK government institute specialising in research and development in fish processing and handling. Peter has made a massive contribution to our understanding of fish technology, particularly in the field of sensory evaluation of fish quality, and he continues to contribute widely, including frequent, erudite and immensely well researched contributions to the Seafood@UCDavis discussion list.

Applications should be submitted by the end of March 2011.
