Plans for the Giant Prawn 2010 in Kochi (from 17-20 January 2011, plus post-conference field visits) are almost complete.
In addition to the three-day session containing invited papers on 18, 19 and 20 January 2011, there will be a concurrent session containing contributed papers during the whole day on 19 January and in the morning of January 20.
GP 2011 Invited sessions contain 33 papers on the science, rearing, processing, marketing and economics of farmed Macrobrachium species will be presented orally by authors from Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, France, Hawaii, Israel, India, Thailand, UK, USA, Vanuatu and Vietnam. Another 29 papers on these subjects will be presented orally in the GP 2011 Contributed sessions by authors from Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, USA and Vietnam. Besides these oral presentations, there will be over 30 GP 2011 Posters on giant prawn topics. The presenters of these posters work in Brazil, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, Sri Lanka, UK and Vietnam. In addition, several post-conference farm tours are being arranged by our hosts in Kerala for those who want to see freshwater prawn farming in action.
