NO need to go to the seaside for fish and chips and ice cream any more! The two holiday favourites are now being sold in one - as fish and chip ice cream! The well known ice cream maker Frederick Dairies of Lancashire has its most bizarre flavour yet and the company hopes it will become a hit during the World Cup tournament which starts today.
They say people can get the taste of a visit to the seaside in one go - ice cream and cod and chips in a single bite. The unusual dish consists of creamed cod-flavoured ice cream It’s hoped that the unusual Fish and Chips creation will raise awareness of the bountiful choices available in the market.
Frederick’s Dairies.The fish and chip ice cream was unveiled at the weekend at the upmarket West London chippie George's Portobello Fish Bar, which is also thought to be TV chef Jamie Oliver's favourite chippie. This week it will be launched nationwide in time for the World Cup.

The unique Fish & Chip flavour may sound like a surprising combination, but it tastes delicious and will certainly raise a smile with our customers.” The UK ice cream market is worth £1.3-billion a year with vanilla the top selling flavour. Other savoury flavoured ice cream in the past has included prawn cocktail, sausage and mash and bacon and egg.
