Seafish, the authority on seafood, successfully piloted a new questionnaire at the Glasgow Fishing Exhibition as part of their annual UK fishing fleet survey.
Hazel Curtis, Chief Economist at Seafish, said: “The new interview questionnaire went down well and we’d like to thank all those who took part. We ran a prize draw for those completing the survey with a prize of a set of fishermen's oilskins with built-in buoyancy produced by Don Mor Safety of Aberdeen.
“We’re delighted to announce that the winner of the prize draw was Graeme Buchan of Fraserburgh who skippers the Ellorah.”
The annual fleet survey provides a detailed overview of the financial performance of different sectors of the UK fleet and a personal financial benchmark report for skippers who send us their vessel accounts.
There are a few sectors that have not been well represented in recent years, so Seafish especially wants to speak to skippers of vessels under 12m and skippers of over 10m longline vessels.
Skippers who would like to contribute to the survey should contact Andy Gray on a_gray@seafish.co.uk or 0131 524 8642 for further details.
Should people be 'stimulated' to eat white fish alternatives to cod?
