Portree lifeboat crew rescue fishing boat rescued
Published:  23 February, 2010

Portree RNLI lifeboat launched at 9.35am on Saturday 20 February to go to the assistance of fishing vessel The Three Sisters, which had broken down in the Sound of Raasay.

Portree RNLI lifeboat, with a crew of five aboard, launched to go to the assistance of the single handed trawler, which had developed engine failure five miles north of Portree in the middle of the Sound of Raasay.

The lifeboat arrived on scene at 10am and quickly took the fishing boat under tow back to Portree, arriving at 11.05 am without incident. The weather was calm with good visibility and no one was injured.

This was Portree RNLI lifeboat’s second consecutive Saturday morning ‘shout’ to assist a fishing boat which had broken down, having towed in the fishing vessel Paulona on Saturday 13 February.
