M&J Seafood ,which has just won a national 'best seafood supplier award, has 14 branches throughout the UK from Scotland to the South of England, along with a major seafood production operation in Grimsby. The event will be held at Mr Todiwala's Cafe Spice Namaste in London on February 12th.
M&J director Mike Berthet will also be on hand to explain the current crisis surrounding sustainable seafood and Neil Poxon M&J’s top blockman will demonstrate how to cut fish professionally.
Representatives from The Marine Conservation Society, The Marine Stewardship Council, SeaWeb’s Seafood Choices Alliance and Sustain will also be discussing sustainability and run a top tips session.
Sustainable seafood is a sensitive issue for restaurants and chefs and a definite focus for today’s customers, but M&J says there is no need to remove seafood from menus provided restaurants and other users are aware of which fish and shellfish is sensible to use.
Should people be 'stimulated' to eat white fish alternatives to cod?
