The latest EFF (England) panel decides on 20 project applications
Ten projects were successful resulting in an investment of £1.42 million in public funding, levering in a further £4.05 million in private investment in the industry.
Details of successful projects are in the table below.
The successful applicants produced clear cases with supporting evidence sharing how the grants would benefit the industry.
They range from an innovative project for MSC accreditations for a Beam Trawl Fishery for the South West to significant support for a Seafish safety programme plus major investments in marketing and processing in Hull and for Cuttlefish in the South West.
Smaller-scale vessel modernisations are dealt with on a continuous basis by the Marine and Fisheries Agency and do not have to await a panel.
The closing date for the next panel is 17th December 2009 (for the panel meeting on the 17th February 2010).
Should fisheries be closed during breeding time to allow stocks to reach more sustainable levels?
