(SARNISSA) web-site has issued a call for authors to write case studies on African aquaculture for inclusion in the CABI Aquaculture Compendium
The main incentive is a fee of 300 euros for texts that are accepted for publication along with a period of free access to the Aquaculture Compendium.
Will Leschen and Olivier Mikolasec from SARNISSA said: “We are looking for candidates to write Case studies for SARNISSA. You can describe or analyze a project in which you are or were engaged in, a topic related to your work in aquaculture, or write a summary in your field of expertise. The case study could also be related to one particular individual, a commercial company, a government extension service, a community aquaculture group or a university research station.
“The case studies are user friendly texts that aim to link theory and practice in aquaculture development and/or research. They consist of 10-15 pages (A4) or 3 to 5 thousand words, and should be balanced, non biased texts which describe successes and failures, involve lesson learning and where possible relate research to end users.
“If you think you have one or more "story" to share, send us the title and a summary not exceeding 300 words on a completed application form. Each participant may propose a maximum of three case study titles.
The SARNISSA web-site (www.sarnissa.org) has application forms and examples of suitable case studies.
The deadline for submission of the case studies is 15 June 2009.
