The Oslo based environmental organisation Bellona has recently introduced an English version of their website covering topics on aquaculture in Norway.
Bellona is an international environmental organization established in 1986 and based in Oslo, Norway. The organization has several focus areas; one of them is the environmental challenges for the aquaculture industry. Skretting Norway has a partnership with Bellona working together to reduce the environmental impacts of aquaculture.
In 2007 Bellona introduced their own aquaculture website with an overview of what they considered to be the most important challenges for the years to come. The topics addressed are “feed resources”, “escapes”, “food safety”, “sea lice”, “discharges”, “fish health” and “legislation”. Now an English version of the site is available at http://www.bellona.org/aquaculture.
Bellona, who receives a large number of inquiries related to aquaculture, aim to reach a larger audience with the launch of the English language website.
www.fishupdate.com is published by Special Publications. Special Publications also publish Fish Farmer, the Fish Industry Yearbook, the Scottish Seafood Processors Federation Diary, the Fish Farmer Handbook and a range of wallplanners.
Should fisheries be closed during breeding time to allow stocks to reach more sustainable levels?
