Food safety week set to educate consumers
Published:  29 April, 2008

THE Food Standard Agency's (FSA) Food Safety Week is set to take place this summer between June 9-13, with a range of events being run across the UK in schools, community groups and local councils, to highlight the importance of food safety and hygiene in the home.

This year, the FSA is creating an exciting new theme for Food Safety Week, based on the 4 Cs - cooking, cleaning, chilling and cross-contamination.

It will be unveiled on the FSA's website, as well as its consumer advice site eatwell.gov.uk on June 9.

To support events being organised locally, a range of publicity materials will be available, free of charge.

Although the Food Safety Week theme will remain 'top secret' until the week itself, it is possible to pre-order the following items:

* A5 food hygiene leaflet (FSA/1236/0508)

* leaflet dispenser (FSA/1237/0508)

* 4 A3 posters
