Strong Norwegian currency causes problems for seafood firms
Published:  16 April, 2008

THE strong Norwegian Krone is said to be forcing several Norwegian fish processing plants to close.

Seafood exporters have problems in several key markets, NRK reports.

According to The Norway Post, both the British pound and the US dollar have weakened against the Norwegian krone.

So far, around 25 plants in Troendelag and Helgeland have stopped buying fresh fish for processing for the time being.
