£30K PER ANNUM
This is an excellent opportunity to work in partnership with VT Critical Services and the Environmental Agency to manage and maintain a coastal survey vessel as Master of The Water Guardian.
This role involves residing on the Water Guardian, Monday to Friday, aiding an Environmental Agency Officer gain samples for various Environmental Directives along the UK East Coast from the River Thames up to Dunbar, however most of the work will be between the Tyne and Humber.
Candidates should ideally have knowledge of the operational area but it is essential that you are a team player with a flexible, pro-active approach. Experience of working on small boats with a small crew is required, as well as being computer literate with good verbal and written skills and trawling and winch experience.
Candidates must hold a Dot-Deck Officers Class 4 Certificate with command endorsement or Service as Yacht Master Offshore (Motor), a DOT ENG1 medical certificate and a DOT First Aid at Sea Certificate or their equivalents. Candidates should also hold qualifications in basic fire fighting and basic sea survival. A clean driving license is also required.
