RUSSIA has lifted the last restrictions on the import of herring and mackerel from Norway following negotiations in Svolvaer.
Russia introduced the restrictions last autumn, claiming the food safety control at a number of Norwegian processing plants was not adequate, The Norway Post reported.
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority checked all plants in question and passed the results on to the Russian Food Inspectorate, asking that the import ban be lifted.
